Here are the memories of a family staying in the Pays de Fougères. They tell us about their welcome when they arrive in their gîte, their mysterious discoveries in the Fougères Forest and the games in the middle of nature with their children!
Here we welcome you with our heart
“We arrived late yesterday afternoon. After giving us time to put down our suitcases and discover the place, Mrs. Janvier, owner of the cottage the Breton countryside came to make sure we were seated.
To welcome us, she offered us a homemade cake. What kind attention!

Tailor-made advice for a successful stay
She took advantage of this moment to give us some advice on things to do in the area. Everything to live the holidays in family and in the great outdoors that we dream of. She spoke to us in particular about a geocaching course, a high-tech treasure hunt. Puzzles to solve and treasures to find, all with your smartphone? Kids will love it!
The next day, after a good night's sleep, we set off to explore the ferns forest. While Lou (8 years old) and Adrien (11 years old) are having fun on the playground next to the house, I prepare the picnic. Laurent downloads the geocaching application Treasures of Upper Brittany. Everybody is ready ? On the way !
Picnic and fun by the pond
La Ferns Forest is 5 minutes away, you can't get closer! We park in the car park that Mrs. Janvier indicated to us and walk to the Chênedet outdoor base, located in the heart of the forest. The setting is relaxing, exactly what we needed. The picnic tables do not miss. We choose one in the shade.
After lunch, Laurent takes a nap. I take a book but keep an eye on the children having fun on the beach set up by the pond. Sandcastles and paddling along the water's edge: they are thrilled!
A high-tech treasure hunt surrounded by nature
After this short hour of relaxation, it's time for adventure! Walking shoes on, we set off in search of the famous Druid Stones. It's sunny, we're really going to have a great afternoon!
Fighting over the smartphone, Lou and Adrien follow the puzzles. They who are usually reluctant to walk… We are amazed! And the magic happens… Around the standing stones, they invent stories of fairies and goblins. We really feel Britain ! And what emotion when, at the end of the walk, we discover the treasure. We are all very proud! A family selfie to immortalize this moment and it's time to return.

What a pleasure to find the cottage at the end of the day! The stone walls and exposed beams Reminds me of my grandparents' house. I spent all my holidays there with my sister. The week promises to be rich in emotions…”
