10km north of Fougères, set off on a immersion in Breton nature in the Landemarais peat bog in Parigné.
Classified as a “Peat bog of national interest”, the Landemarais site is one of three unique raised bogs of Brittany. Protected and managed by the Department of Ill-et-Villaine, this exceptional wetland attracts many nature lovers.
A kingdom for flora and fauna in all seasons
From cranberries to round-leaved sundews, through water clover, or marsh calluna, there are dozens of species to be detected in this vegetation.
The Landemarais peat bog is also rich in varied fauna : you can observe many birds, viviparous lizards, green tree frogs whose song will take you on a journey to distant lands. Don't miss the magnificent Poitou mule horses responsible for maintaining the site to preserve theecological balance.
