Eglise Bonabry

The working-class neighborhood of Bonabry is located near the old Fougères railway station. This district developed in connection with the shoe industry and around the Bonabry church, erected at the end of the XNUMXth century.

Work of architects Henri Mellet and Charles Coüasnon, the church is in Roman-Byzantine style. The nave dates from 1891-1893, the transept from 1903 and the choir from 19252.

Following the bombings of June 6 and 9, 1944, the church, partially destroyed, was restored. These latest works did not allow the bell tower to be completed.
