The Château de Combourg and its 25-hectare park evoke the history of Brittany from the Middle Ages to the present day.

The great writer and politician François-René de Chateaubriand spent his childhood there and immortalized it in his “Mémoires d'Outre-Tombe”.

Alternately protective fortress, cradle of romanticism, military hospital...
The castle with multiple lives is still inhabited today by the descendants of the author.

It was completely restored in the XNUMXth century in the neo-Gothic style under the influence of the famous architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc.

The castle can be visited guided.
It is also possible to visit the park only.
