In 2001, the Ministry responsible for Tourism created the Tourism and Handicap label for customers with disabilities.
Obtaining the Tourism and Disability Label was included in the 2008/2011 Action Plan of theDestination Fougeres Tourist Office, if possible for four main disabilities (auditory, mental, motor and visual). The process was initiated in May 2008. The label was obtained for the 4 deficiencies in July 2011 and has been renewed since.
Here are the changes made to the Tourist Office:
Reserved parking in front of the Tourist Office, access ramp with railings, internal signage to better identify the different spaces, adapted displays, interior paths on one level, lowered reception desk, call button at the entrance , human presence, chair available, accessible toilets (by elevator), survey of the adapted offer, staff training in welcoming people with disabilities.
Contrasting indoor and outdoor routes with signage, adapted documentation, in large print and in Braille, voicemail in the elevator, indoor and outdoor routes without obstacles, vigilance strip on the glass door, call document in large print and in Braille , guide dogs accepted, survey of the adapted offer, staff training in welcoming people with disabilities, dictaphone, downloadable audio guided tours of the city.
Magnetic loop, possibility of writing information, Internet available, presentation of documentation by themes associated with images, internal signage to better identify the different spaces, flashing alarm in the toilets, inventory of the adapted offer, training of staff in welcoming people with disabilities
Presentation of documentation by themes associated with images, tourist documentation presented by geographical sector and by theme, presence of pictograms combining text and images, training of staff in welcoming people with disabilities.
