Exposition – « Babel » – Muriel Bordier

Invited by the Albert Bourgeois Gallery for a photographic project around the 2024 Olympic Games in the Fougères agglomeration territory, Muriel Bordier selected ten sports clubs: athletics, badminton, fencing, golf, artistic gymnastics, horse riding , weightlifting, table tennis, twirling and water polo. After taking photographs in her studio installed at the Gallery in November 2023, the artist began designing eleven large-format photographic paintings. In a universe imbued with poetry but also absurdity, they relate different skits around the Olympics where nothing goes as planned... The Babel exhibition illustrates with humor and offbeat the problems of communication, lack of time, respecting deadlines , the technical concerns specific to the organization of such a global event.
