The Château de Fougères, the largest medieval fortress in Europe
The city of Fougères is undoubtedly one of the must-see places to discover during your stay in Brittany. Your excursion begins with the discovery of the Fougeres Castle, largest fortress in Europe! Throughout the summer, numerous events as well as the " Sundays at the Château » will allow you to live the medieval adventure: re-enactment of period battles, discovery of the cuisine and music of the Middle Ages, as well as crafts, will take you on a journey through medieval daily life.
The Château de La Ballue and its Gardens
A few steps away is also a magnificent natural setting: The Castle of La Ballue. Treat yourself to a bucolic break in the tea room before strolling through its gardens worked like works of art. Do you dare to venture into the wisteria tunnel and the maze?
The Château du Rocher Portal
Continue your visit with a leap in time by visiting the Portal Rock Castle. Stroll through the twelve richly decorated rooms to better immerse yourself in the various eras of the Castle: original furniture, royal tapestries, cabinet of curiosities, objects and treasures from the Castle of Versailles.

The Fougerais basin is full of nuggets to discover! Go to the heights to discover breathtaking panoramasbut also forest to admire the beauty of nature in the wild!
Hikes and walks in the Fougères countryside
On foot or by bike, go on an adventure on the Greenway and stop at the legendary Saut-Roland, where an immersion in the heart of the Breton legend awaits you. If you are driving, take a short detour via the Landes of Jaunouse, for a walk in the heart of peat bogs, alternating wooded areas, heather moors and meadows.
Activities for all ages in the Forests
During your stay, you can also enjoy a leisure day in the heart of the forest.
The national forests of Fougères and Villecartier offer a multitude of activities to do with family or friends: swimming and nautical activities at the Chênedet leisure center, while you can enjoy a miniature boat ride on the lake in Villecartier.
You can also practice thetree climbing (from 3 years old) on both areas and pony rides are also offered in summer.
